1. Do you log in to the Linux (Ubuntu) system from a Windows PC?
Yes, you need to X-server porgram to login to Ubuntu system. The X-server porgram will handle DISPLAY without any other setup including DISPLAY variable.
No, you are using another linux system and remote login , you need to use "ssh -X -l user_name".
2. Did you see message "Could not find environment variable DISPLAY" while logged into the Linux (Ubuntu) system console?
2.1 % ssh -X -l user_name
2.2 ex) 192.168.0.100 is client system IP address. Below command in Ubuntu.
% setenv DISPLAY 192.168.0.100:0
** You should first study the Ubuntu, Linux User BASIC Guide.
It is impossible to use the Red Hawk tool if you do not know the basic usage of Linux.
