Responsibilities:
Ensure and support alignment between business strategy and HR objectives
Business partner to China RD team to ensure goal alignment
Identify local HR issues (e.g. compliance, ER, staffing, L&D, C&B, performance management, etc.) and assist in developing interventions and initiatives to address these challenges, investigate and resolve all ER issues; ensure local HR policies and practices are aligned and complied to regional and corporate HR policies as much as possible
Develop and implement strategies to ensure communications occur and employee engagement in the business is maximized
Maintain and improve performance management systems focusing on both, process & content; provide multi-sided support to internal customers to accomplish efficient performance reviews
Drive regional goal-setting process, execute on compensation-related activities to ensure timely delivery working with business leaders, Corp HR & Finance on compensation
Oversee incoming and outgoing processes are effectively managed and consistent and transparent for all China locations
Conduct un/scheduled HR and payroll audit for data accuracy and Workday utilization
Manage complex employee relation challenges and concerns that could result in legal ramifications or organization exposure; assess the severity, involve appropriate individuals and facilitate appropriate action based on established practice
Proactively initiate dialog with management providing counsel and advice on issues affecting morale, performance, employee development and organization effectiveness, helping to determine root causes and recommending appropriate next steps.
Drive regional HR initiatives; participate in China RD meetings
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree; prefer MBA or Master's Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, and/or HRCI certification
5-8+ years of progressive experience in the related field including 2+ years of people management is required for this position
· Ability to multi-task, understand the business (as well as the business imperatives) and will be responsive to management direction, but will have the courage to push back when the direction is not in the best interests of the organization
· Multilingual with excellent English and Mandarin Chinese language skills- written, spoken and reading
· Good PC skills, Microsoft Windows and experience with HR systems
· Progressive HR Generalist background with emphasis on C&B, L&D, and Employee Relations
· Prior experience working with Sales & Marketing organization in fast-paced MNC helpful
· Proven track record of success as HR Manager with multi-site across China as well as successfully navigated through complex matrix organizations
· Knowledge of China employment laws and local practices in various geographies
· Need to be action-oriented and a results-oriented approach to business
· Excellent communication with negotiation and facilitation skills
· Demonstrated leadership and influencing capability; ability to interact with all levels of management and employees; sense of urgency
· High integrity and will stop at nothing to safeguard compliance standards and Company’s Guiding Principles
· Some overnight travel is required for regional meetings and other businesses
· Ability to work non-traditional hours as required (e.g. cross-regional conference calls)
· A diverse background in high technology/semi-conductor industry
work experience is preferred
Strong critical and conceptual thinking and a results-oriented approach to business
Understanding and application of global HR principles, concepts, practices and standards
Excellent project management skills along with negotiation and facilitation skills
· Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to assert him/herself and know when to push back; ability to define problems or issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. It is critical in this role to demonstrate excellent communication skills to interface internally and externally with all levels of an organization and to participate in problem solving and quality improvement activities.
