This section describe new features, changes, and enhancements in the
TetraMAX Reference Methodology version G-2012.06.
* The pattern optimization flow has been added.
The new $TMAX_OPTIMIZE_PATTERNS runtime variable controls this flow.
* On-chip clocking support has been added for designs containing on-chip clock
controllers.
A new option, On-Chip Clocking, has been added in RMgen. You should set this
option to the same value for both the Design Compiler and TetraMAX reference
methodologies.
Set On-Chip Clocking to TRUE when you want to use the phase-locked loop (PLL)
clock for transition delay and other dynamic tests and use the bypass clock
for stuck-at and other static tests. When this option is set to FALSE, all
clocks are controlled by primary inputs.
* The tmax_diagnosis.tcl file has been updated to use the new Library Exchange
Format/Design Exchange Format (LEF/DEF) flow for physical diagnosis instead of
the old Milkyway flow.
* The TetraMAX Reference Methodology now reads the scan compression protocol file
from Design Compiler by default because scan compression is now enabled by
default in the Design Compiler Reference Methodology.
Comments have been added explaining how to use the set_drc switches that are
required by the new shared codec I/O flow support in the Design Compiler
Reference Methodology.
* The comments that described a manual workaround for simulating loadable nonscan
cells have been removed because TetraMAX version G-2012.06 has been enhanced to
write the correct testbench automatically.
* The script now writes the post-DRC reports immediately after running the
run_drc command instead of waiting until after it runs the run_atpg command.
This change improves the accuracy of the reports and makes them available
earlier.
