Strictly speaking, noise in oscillator is not additive, since vco is non-linear by its nature.

You can have a try: build a simple VCO in Spice, and inject a current with frequency different than the central one. At the output you will not observe f0 or f_injection. That is due to non-linearity.

When noise frequency is far away from DC, then linear model is a good approximation.
