The novelty with this structure is that it takes advantage of the well known properties of comb
filters, but by means of a tapped structure combined with a few additional multiplications, manages
to distribute null points in such a way that the local maxima are flattened and the attenuation
becomes more or less constant for all frequencies fN = f0=K f fN(K 􀀀1) (Fig. 2.12). If
it is high enough, it could allow a decimation with a K much closer, if not equal, to OSR. This
could lead to a simplified one or two-stage design (compensation filter excluded) while still
using computationally efficient sincN structures.
