Backend Application Engineer

Location: Shanghai

Job Description:

Physical DesignApplication Engineer (AE) is expected to support the sale and adoption ofSynopsys products to help customers achieve tangible and lasting performanceimprovements in the cost, quality, and development time for projects.

Physical Design AEssupport Synopsys physical design (P&R) solutions. In addition, they areexpected to articulate design methodologies involving Synopsys tools and beelevator-talk proficient in the full Synopsys tool portfolio.

Their sales supportroles include product demonstrations, evaluations, competitive benchmarking andaccount planning; Customer support roles include training, problem resolution,service delivery and technical account management.

Physical Design AEsleverage their knowledge by writing SolvNet Articles, and by assisting other AEs.They also provide technical feedback to Synopsys product development teamspertaining to critical issues and recommended enhancements. Business travelwill be required for this position.

Requirements:

MSEE, or equivalentrequired with 5+ years of experience, or BSEE or equivalent with 7+ years ofexperience.

Experiences shouldinclude asic/SoC back-end design (Place & Route), knowledge of designing in28nm or below process technologies is preferred.

Experience in timingsign-off and physical verification is desired. Excellent verbal and writtenpresentation/communication skills are mandatory.

Customersensitivity, the ability to multiplex many issues & set priorities and havea helpful/caring attitude towards customers, and the desire to help customersexploit new technologies are essential for success in the position.
