Abstract:
Video RF tuners are used in a wide variety of consumer products, including televisions, Analog and digital set top
boxes, digital video recorders, and cable modems. Recently, advances in CMOS technologies have enabled the
creation of cost-effective integrated silicon tuners. This article will first provide the reader with a comprehensive
tutorial that covers the basics of RF tuners, reviews the performance specifications used in this class of tuners, and
discusses how integrated silicon tuners offer improvements over traditional approaches, such as !can!± tuners. |
