Qiuting Huang is currently Professor of Electronics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland. He received his B.Sc degree from the Harbin Institute of Technology (Harbin, China) in 1982 and the Ph.D degree from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Leuven, Belgium) in 1987. Prior to joining ETH in 1993 he was a lecturer at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK.
Professor Huang has specialized in integrated circuit design for such diverse applications as high speed VLSI, smart power, sensor-interface electronics and medical electronics. His research is most focused, however, in analog and mixed signal integrated circuits, as well as RF integrated circuits for communications.
He and his graduate students have developed complete RF receivers and transceivers for applications such as paging, GPS, GSM and UMTS, with particular emphasis on low power design.
He has published nearly 150 papers in IEEE journals and conferences, including many at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC). He was awarded a Fellowship of the IEEE "for contributions to integrated circuits for wireless communications" in 2002.
Professor Huang currently serves on the technical program committees of both ISSCC and ESSCIRC. He is the chairman of the Zurich Chapter of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society and was a guest editor of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits. He won the best paper award of the Transactions on Electronics by the Japanese Institute of Electronics, Information and Communications Engineers in 1997 and the best evening panel award at ISSCC in 1998. |
