DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY:
We are looking for an experienced technical writer to join our team. In this
capacity, you are expected to do the following:
Plan, research, develop, and deliver content in multiple formats, and update
existing documentation deliverables for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS products.
Responsibilities include a wide variety of complex writing and special projects,
working with management to support and execute on group’s strategic and
technical direction. Drive innovative and new ways to present information and
participate in documentation process improvements, including customer
satisfaction improvements, usability testing, and document analysis.
Deliverables includes both hardware and software documents including data
sheets, technical reference guides, design guides, user guides, installation
procedures, test reports, application notes, and other Engineering and
Marketing documents.
Support documentation releases for new products as well as updates for
existing products according to company standards and quality guidelines.
Work with product teams to identify requirements and recommend appropriate
documentation deliverables based on our customers needs. Manage
communication and interaction with product team and other stakeholders.
Respond to customer and customer support requests and questions in a timely
and professional manner. Work with development teams located in different
parts of the world with aggressive deadlines and tailor deliverables accordingly.
Produce high quality end-user documentation and procedures for a technical
audience (paper and electronic versions). Work on all phases of information
development from information gathering, research, and interviewing, to writing
and editing.
Be proactive as a tech writer in resolving bottlenecks that affect the release of
documents or other objectives. Be willing to ask questions in the interest of
learning, relevance and ?getting it right.?
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree in a technical field, English or technical communication. A
combination of technical background and a degree in English or technical
communication is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Excellent writing and editing skills
At least 5 years? solid experience as a technical writer in the software and
semiconductor chip design industry, preferably in the US or in a company
based in the US.
Experience using a company Style Guide, Chicago Manual of Style or
Microsoft Manual of Style.
Advanced knowledge of Frame Maker, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Adobe
