Overview: Virtualization technology has been used inhigh-end servers for quite some time. The evolution of virtualizationhas brought with it the desire to reduce the S/W overhead portion ofvirtualization, particularly for I/O devices. Virtualization enables asingle physical I/O device to masquerade as multiple virtualized I/Odevices, one for each virtual machine and with complete independencefrom each other.
