Ambit Buildgates, Envisea Silicon Ensemble and Cadence SoC Encounter

Hi all,

I decided to learn Backend design and I am investigating some EDA tool. I found a lots of tools from different Eda vendor doing the job and I feel confused. For example, could you please tell me what is the difference between Ambit Buildgates, Envisea Silicon Ensemble and Cadence SoC Encounter ?

ambit buildgate is cadence synthesis tools. currently it has been out-of-date for long time
if you want to learn synthesis , you should learn Design Compiler which is gold synthesis tool from Synopsys
Envisea Silicon Ensemble is cadence P&R tools,  it is also out-of-date. you should learn EDI (soc encounter latest version) or IC compiler from Synopsys
