He describes specific receiver algorithms for implementing wireless communication links, including synchronization, carrier frequency offset estimation, channel estimation, and equalization. While most concepts are presented for systems with single transmit and receive antennas, Heath concludes by extending those concepts to contemporary MIMO systems.
