as stated in the title, I have Cadence Virtuoso & Spectre installed in a RHEL9 VM. Both are version IC6.18 and are activated with tools found in the forums here.
A small issue I am dealing with is that when the VM is connected to the internet (as in the network adapter is connected to the VM), it takes a good 10-15 seconds to start Virtuoso and for Spectre to start simulations. As soon as I deactive the network adapter, everything works perfectly.
Has anyone faced this problem? Are there any solutions?
check the hostname of your VM。
i guess you are using the default localhost.localdomain
when connected to the internet, it might be automatically changed to sth. else. thus makes it slow....
That is the solution I am currently using, but I'd like to move the VM to an actual OS installation to remotely connect to. So internet access is required. Thus the question.
I have changed the default hostname, as it interfered with the license acquisition of some Synopsys tools (or something like that). Running hostname returns the hostname I have set, not localhost.localdomain.
