You are going to be part of The Innovation Advanced Concepts and Systems team that drives the company forward in innovation design towards enabling highly innovative new products for 5G systems. A multi-disciplinary, international team that is committed to being on top of the industry innovation in RF Power through best in class industrial research.

A look into the life of an Innovation RF Design Engineer

• Research of transmit line-up and receive block systems to be used in current and future standards like 4.5G and 5G (MMIC and hybrid solutions)
• Design, simulation and demonstration of new RF PA concepts, to enhance the performance of base station on efficiency, linearity and band-width for current and future standards like 4.5G and 5G
• Carry out industrial research, enlarging relevant knowledge and bringing in new knowledge
• Pro-actively make knowledge available for operational use within Ampleon, such as to contribute to successful transfers of innovation results to the customer
• Keep abreast of technical developments in the relevant technology and industrial areas through study of literature and technical contacts
• Create the necessary design and product documentation and host design reviews
• Characterise concept prototypes, developing test specifications and coordinate with development engineering to drive product releases
• Strong interaction with DPD team (system engineers) and modeling engineers
  

Your profile

• At least 10 years of RF design experience
• PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in RF & Microwave design
• 5G system architecture know-how (especially in small cells)
• Excellent skills in RFIC and MMIC design flows, particularly on GaN, GaAs and/or LDMOS (RFCMOS and SiGe are a plus)
• Deep knowledge to efficiency enhancement techniques for RF Power amplifiers
• Deep knowledge on integration and packaging techniques
• Good knowledge of RF equipment and measurement techniques
• Good knowledge of low noise amplifiers and switches
• Good knowledge of circuit theory and mathematical modeling
• Solid understanding of digital components interaction with the other Analog blocks and ability to define them
• Experience with electromagnetic simulators, Keysight ADS and Matlab
• 3GPP standardization of 5G knowledge.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment (system and architecture, design, test, package integration, project management and industrialisation) and multi-site
• Ability to anticipate future (+3y) technology needs and propose innovative research directions
• Excellent team player and quick network builder
• Very good communication skills
• Fluent in English
