PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

•MTS candidate: BS-CS/BS-EE with at least 7 years experience or 5+ years experience for MS with BIOS, firmware, or system software development
•Sr. engineer candidate: BS-CS/BS-EE with at least 5 years experience or 3+ years experience for MS with BIOS, firmware, or system software development
•Hands on ARM development experience  with BSP development/Boot loader (i.e.uBoot)/CoreBoot,
•Experience programming with ARM assembly and C and C++.
•Experience with SW and HW tools used in debugging.
•Good understanding of systems concepts including memory, caches, page table, TLB, DVM, DVM, bus architectures.
•Mastered in data structure. (queues, link table, ring buffer)
•Good RTOS concepts, RTOS/Linux kernel debugging skill is a plus
•Cross CPU communication experience is a plus.
•Some experience on emulation environment is a plus.
•Good understanding of CPU architecture, CPU+GPU+SMU…
•OS (Windows/Linux) kernel experience or Firmware (UEFI/CoreBoot) experience
•Fluent in both written and spoken English.


Key responsibilities:
•Design, develop, and debug Firmware or UEFI Firmware for internal/external systems and platforms that use AMD APU/CPU, AMD chipset, and 3rd party chipsets.
&#8226articipant in day-to-day firmware and BIOS development work using ARM assembly and C languages; will need to interact with internal organizations and customers.
•Comfortable working with PC hardware and platform issues
•Must have strong system firmware debugging skills. The following are typical tasks that the engineer will be responsible for: •Design Firmware features required by AMD APU/CPU and chipset;
•Develop Firmware features for AMD new platforms designed in house or externally; debug Firmware and system related issues;
•Assist APU/CPU validation, platform validation, and debug engineers to develop/debug system and silicon issues;
&#8226rovide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements.
