Jobdescription:

Thisposition will primarily locate in Microchip Shanghai PuDong office. As part ofAsia IT services team, he/she will join the team to support the expanding Linuxcomputing environment in Asia Pacific regions. He/she should have experiencesin supporting production and development Linux environment, HPC and its relatedtechnologies that included hardware, OS, applications and storage.

JobResponsibilities:

•            Provide Linux user and system support;

•            Responsible for Linux OS and system maintenance - including but not limited toinstall, update and maintain applications, system admin tools and operatingsystems;

•            Responsible for backup and recovery Linux infrastructure which includessoftware, virtual and physical tape libraries;

•            Monitor production and development Linux environments to ensure systemavailability;

•            Document systems operations, work instructions, local procedures in givingsystem;

•            Work with corporate Linux administration team to ensure corporate standardsapply to regional Linux environment.

•            Interact with local support vendors for server hardware problemresolution/upgrade/maintenance.

JobRequirements

•            Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology with 2+ years ofexperience;

•            Linux system administration experience with minimum 1 years on Enterprise LinuxOperating System;

•            Hands on experience in Linux administration, installation, migration,configuration, troubleshooting and shell scripting;

•            Experience in installing and applying patches for systems and hardware;

•            Experience in supporting and troubleshooting NFS, NIS/LDAP, CIFS problems;

•            Experience in disaster recovery procedures, backup/recovery processes andsecurity;

•            Experience in installing EDA tools, compilers, 3rd party software is a plus;

•            Experience working in a High Performance Computing (HPC) environment(LSF,SGE,RTDA,SV……etc) is a plus;

•            Able to work independently and good team player;

•            Strong verbal and written communication skills in English desired.
