NO.82-ARM MCU/eMPU Staff Kits and Boards Engineer(Shanghai)

urpose:
Working in the ARM MCU/eMPU Kits and Boards Team in the Shanghai Design Center (SDC), the primary objective of this role is to lead and perform the kits and boards’ tasks for the ARM flash MCU and ARM eMPU (embedded microprocessor unit) products, as a staff team member.
The ARM MCU/eMPU Kits and Boards Team is part of the ARM Applications Group, with the role to design and industrialize the evaluation kits, demo boards, validation/characterization boards, reference designs, etc, as well to develop the firmware and board test code.  To fulfill the job, the team is also required to manage and work with the hardware partners and subcontractors, interface with the Store logistics team, write hardware-oriented application notes, and support customers on the ARM MCU/eMPU products, in cooperation with the Kits and Boards Team in France.

Key responsibilities/duties:
1. Lead and participate in defining the specifications, capturing the schematics, following up and managing the PCB layout by subcontractors, following up and managing the prototype manufacturing and validation, for the ARM MCU/eMPU boards, including the evaluation kits, demo boards, validation/characterization boards, reference designs, etc.
2. Lead and participate in developing the board acceptance test plans, developing test software and low-level drivers to validate the board functionality and performance, and developing production test program for manufacturing.
3. Lead and participate in industrializing the evaluation kits, demo boards, reference designs, etc through working together with the subcontractors, and managing acceptance processes of production batches, including CE/FCC certification, either for small quantities or high volume.  Interface with the XX Store logistics team.
4. Manage the kits and boards project management, including project scheduling, resource planning, design review, problem solving, etc.
5. Communicate and collaborate with the Kits and Boards Team in France for defining the tasks and objectives, reporting achievements, and solving issues.
6. Develop professional technical documentations for internal usage and for customers, including application note, user guide, etc.
7. Participate in and lead the customer (internal and external) support, in the context of kits and boards hardware, including design reviews on signal integrity, power integrity, timing, EMI/EMC, ESD, etc.
8. Assist the management team in managing/developing the team competencies; and in recruiting, training and coaching.  Assist in managing/evolving the workflow.
9. Supervise a group of Kits and Boards (Sr.) Engineers.

Internal - Kits and Boards Team in France, teams in ARM Applications Group in France & Shanghai, other teams in the ARM product line and MCU BU
External - Subcontractors, partners, design houses, customers

Requirements (indicate “must” or “preferred”)
Key skills & knowledge:
1. Must have solid experience in embedded hardware and firmware designs based on the
ARM MCU/eMPU, including system definition, hardware specification, schematics capture, PCB layout, test code development, prototype validation, etc.  Must have experience in high speed and mixed signal designs, knowledge of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, ESD, etc.
2. Must be proficient in ORCAD Capture CIS and Allegro PCB, and/or Altium for hardware design.   Must be proficient in Allegro SI Board or HyperLynx, and Allegro AMS for hardware simulations.
3. Must have clear and profound understanding of the digital electronics fundamentals, including computer architecture and programmable logic design.  Must have clear and profound understanding of the analog design fundamentals, including tests and measurements, transistors, operational amplifiers and power supply systems.
4. Must have solid experience in embedded hardware development project management. Must have experience in interfacing with PCB layout subcontractors and board manufacturers.
5. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with multi-levels of internal and external interfaces.
6. Must be a self-starter with the ability to proactively propose technically competent solutions; must be result-oriented and have the skills to manage time efficiently.
7. Preferred multi-national company (MNC) working experience in semiconductor industry.
8. Preferred experience of leading, coaching and mentoring other engineers.

Language skills:
English, fluent conversation, reading and writing
Chinese mandarin, native speaker

Relevant experience:
Minimum 8-year experience in embedded hardware and firmware development

Qualifications:
Bachelor above in Electronics Engineering or related major, Master above preferred
