ROLE

To  design high quality, cost effective fire detection products using the  disciplines required for high-volume manufacture.       Promote  and lead the use of a structured approach to product development and testing  to ensure products are robust and comply with worldwide standards.       Provide  technical assistance & mentoring and guidance to members of technical  team.       To  share technical knowledge, and to collaborate in joint projects within a multi-national  corporation(UK,US).

Duties andResponsibilities

Accountability	Comments
1. Efficient and error-free programming of low-end  microcontrollers	Experience of microcontrollers written in C or  assembler.
2. Generate software specification from design and  requirement specification.	Ensure specification meet all stakeholders’  requirements and are documented clearly.
3. Design products that comply with the worldwide  regulatory   standard (UL,CCCf)	Understand and enforce legislative requirements  for product development
4. Manage relationships and provide assistance to  Production/Test.	Resolve problems with new & existing product  designs and to support production transfer activities.
5. Test and Validation	Create validation and verification plans in a  structured method and provide documentation
6. Manage relationships with and provide assistance  to UK/US colleagues	Frequent liaisons with UK/US colleagues and  travel will be required
7. Maintain best practice product development  techniques	Including training & self-learning activities
8. Evaluate & introduce new technologies where  appropriate	Monitor new developments & report to the  Technical team
9. Evaluate  competitor’s products.	Report  to interested stakeholders
10. Ensure  designs are robust, cost effective and designed for manufacture.	Ensure  designs are to budget. FMEA/validation exercises to be conducted, reviewed and  documented.
11. Design  robust test equipment	Mainly  hardware and software design to ensure equipment is designed for  manufacturing

Essential Skills  Required       · 7+ years experience in a design  environment.    · A degree holder in (software related discipline)    · Fluent in Mandarin with excellent English  skills (Verbal and Written)    · Strong motivation and self discipline    · Attention to detail    · Good interpersonal and communications  skills (written and verbal)    · Flexible approach    · Target orientated    · C#    · Linux    · Methodical and structured thinker.       Desirable Skills       · C++    · Assembler    · Visual Basic.    · Labview.    · Fire industry experience    · Project management    · BUS Communication
