Position:
Hardware application engineer

Location:Shanghai

Background:

Application EngineeringGroup is responsible for providing high quality technical support to customersusing our products. In order to do this, we have a number of Applications Engineeringteams based at various locations around the world.
We are now looking for someone to join a small team of Applications Engineersbased in our Shanghai office. This role will encompass the provision of highquality technical support as part of a co-ordinated worldwide team.

Job Requirements:

1、Qualifications:
Good university degree, in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering ideally,although other science graduates would be considered if they have relevantexperience.

2、Experience：
Minimum of 2 years industrial experience
Strong understanding of bus matrix design
Experience of DRAM and DMA controller design
Experience or knowledge of FPGA or ASIC design, simulation and/or verificationtechniques, including RTL coding and simulation, in Verilog or VHDL
Understanding of FPGA or ASIC implementation flows (synthesis, scan insertion,layout)
A good understanding of the interaction between software and hardware
Demonstrable experience of problem solving and debug skills
Experience of interacting with colleagues outside of China.

3、Desirable：
Professional experience of customer and sales interaction
Knowledge of ARM AMBA protocols
C/C++, assembler coding or other programming skills.
Experience in integrating SOC peripherals.

4、Personal Requirements：
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with bothcolleagues and customers, including good written and spoken English
Must be proactive in obtaining engineering or management input, in order tocomplete project and internal tasks in a timely and accurate manner
Must have the desire and ability to solve problems quickly
Must be enthusiastic and well driven
Must be able to schedule own workload and plan tasks – based on both internaland customer requirements.
Must have good inter-personal skills, and be able to work well within a team;especially when under pressure
Must be willing to be flexible and accept new challenges
Must be able to travel on a regular basis, both to give customer training andalso for internal business reasons.

Applications Engineering role
You will be required to gain a good knowledge of ARM’s AMBA protocols, systemIPs and other products through close working with the worldwide applicationengineering teams and ARM's Processor Division (PD). Then to use this knowledgeto provide customers with the assistance they require to understand ourCPU and System IP behaviour, on implementation and integration into theirSystem-on-chip.

The transfer of your knowledge will take a number of forms. Firstly, you willneed to be able to provide comprehensive responses to customer enquiries. Suchenquiries may be received by email, telephone or face to face meetings.

Secondly you will be required to provide in-depth technical training to customers. You will therefore be expected to be able to travel every six toeight weeks. You will also be expected to have excellent interpersonal skillsand be a good presenter.

Thirdly you will be responsible for the generation and review of new productdocumentation, such as application notes, frequently asked question lists anduser guides. This may include translation for local language support.

Last but not least, you must be reactive to the demands of both customers andsales and feedback requirements to Engineering and Marketing groups.
