TEST ENGINEER - SHENZHEN

Position Details

·
Responsible for developing test plans and test procedures for system acceptance testing on communications test sets.

·
Will work from functional specifications to understand product features and to develop new test plans and procedures and manual vs. automated testing approach.

·
Will help to analyse manual vs. automated test coverage and automated test implementation.

·
Will work in the lab to execute the test procedures.

·
Will also work with test technicians to support them in running the test procedures.

·
Will work with development engineers to understand and accurately describe failures found during testing.

·
Late evening/night shift required.

Required Qualifications

·
BS in electrical engineering or computer engineering

·
Knowledge of communications technologies SONET, SDH, PDH, ISDN

·
Experience in automated testing

·
Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Perl, Tcl)

·
Ability to estimate level of effort required to develop plans and procedures and to execute test plans

·
Ability to write system acceptance test plans and procedures based on understanding of system requirements document

·
Ability to recognize and communicate risks in development and execution of test plans and procedures

·
Ability to generate test reports and defect reports to document test results

·
Ability to setup and operate communications network and test equipment

·
Ability to work with development engineers to understand newly developed features and to accurately describe defects found in testing

·
Ability to make tradeoffs in balancing test time with test thoroughness

·
Ability to work with SAT team members in development of new plans and procedures

and in execution of test plans

·
Ability to work independently in execution of defined tasks

·
Ability to direct test technicians in execution of test plans

·
Ability to communicate in verbal and written English effectively.

·
Ability to write test procedure and test report in English
