FPGA Designer Job Summary: Acts as a FPGA Design Engineer in communications and networking equipment development; Be able to work independently as well as work with a cross functional team (HW/SW/SAT/PM) to complete all necessary detailed tasks such as creating system level design concept, detailed design specifications, design requirement analysis, timing analysis, logic modeling and simulation, prototyping, software and hardware integration, debugging and testing, design verification, system test and debug, programming documentation, field issue support, etc. Duties: ·
Responsible for FPGA system design in new communications and networking equipment development. ·
Responsible for creating and maintaining design and test documentation. ·
Responsible for designing, coding, modeling, synthesis, simulation and debugging. ·
Responsible for meeting the customer requirements, marketing product requirements and technical specifications. ·
Responsible for meeting the project milestones, schedules and FCS dates, factory cost goals. ·
Responsible for writing the software and firmware requirements. ·
Responsible for FPGA/software/firmware integration and test. ·
Responsible for new product releases and documentations. Qualification: ·
BS, MS Degrees preferred in EE or related. ·
Solid experience with FPGA design flow; 3 years + experienced in FPGA design, modeling, simulation and verification. ·
Hand on experience with Xilinx and/or Altera FPGA tools and environment (preferred Altera). ·
Solid experience and knowledge in Verilog or VHDL coding. ·
Ability to work independently and on a team. Self-motivated, innovative, effective communicator and strong ability to meet project deadlines and customer needs. ·
Familiar with communications and networking standards such as ITU and IEEE standards. ·
Experienced in communications and network equipment designs and development. ·
Experience and working knowledge with EMI shielding requirements and design practice is a plus ·
Experience and working knowledge with temperature and heat dissipation requirements and design practice is a plus. ·
Optical component and module (transceivers, optical connectors, fiber cables, passive and active optical components, fiber routing, etc.) design and use experience is a big plus. ·
SDH/SONET/Ethernet/OTN/PTN background required ·
Be familiar with Tcl/Perl/Shell are big plus ·
Be able to work with hardware and software designers to optimize product’s performance and manufacturing cost. Understands the trade-offs between cost and performance. ·
Experience with document control and configuration management. ·
Be able to communicate, read, write, understand and speak English effectively. ·
A good team player. ·
Must be willing to take a written test, submit school records and work related references.
