Like GDSII, OASIS is an industry-standard data exchange format for integrated circuit layout
information. OASIS, which stands for Open Artwork System Interchange Standard, is
designed as an improved replacement for GDSII that allows integer bit widths to exceed the
16-bit and 32-bit limits imposed by the GDSII standard. It also has several efficiency
improvements to support larger designs.
You can read an OASIS file into the Milkyway Environment by using either the GUI or the
read_oasis Tcl command. To use the GUI, set the command entry mode to Scheme and
enter the Scheme command read_oasis. This opens the Oasis In Data File dialog box,
