Position:  (Senior)Central Applications Engineer

The Sr Central Applications Engineer (CAE) interfaces with Sales, Marketing, Product and Design Engineering with a focus on LCD TV backlight customer application related tasks for new and existing products. Five to seven years experience and knowledge of Analog and power circuit design with hands-on lab test and measurement of analog/power management circuits specific to LCD TV backlighting. Must be proficient with the use of oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and other common lab instruments. Working knowledge of printed circuit board layout using Altium DXP software and fabrication as well as electronic assembly practices. Must be able to use soldering equipment and have knowledge of hand assembly with SMT devices. Proficient with writing technical documents and creating technical drawings and reviewing/editing datasheets.

The Sr CAE is expected to design and assist building application test fixtures and evaluation boards with an EVB instruction manual/datasheet. This includes management of personnel involved in printed circuit boards, acquisition of components, board assembly and circuit troubleshooting.  Strong lab test and measurement skills are required for characterization of new products and application circuit solutions. Must also “Road Test” products based on the application engineering “New Product Evaluation Check List”.

The (Sr)CAE is responsible for direct contact with customers and field application engineering staff for creating design solutions and trouble shooting system design problems. Good writing, technical drawing and verbal communications skills are mandatory for writing product datasheets, documenting lab reports and creating product application notes.
