LS channel estimation is very easy to implemente since only the reference signals or pilots and the received signals are needed, but LMMSE could provide about 2 dB performance improvement over LS. In LMMSE, the autocorrelation matrix of the channel response is needed, how to estimate it and apply the LMMSE channel estimation in LTE?
