Review
Praise for the First Edition
this bookis perfectly appropriate as a textbook for an introductory course oncomputational statistics. It covers many useful topics, which incombination with the well-documented code, make the underlying conceptseasy to grasp by the students. Overall, this is a very nice book to beused in an undergraduate- or masters-level computational statisticscourse. It would also prove useful to researchers in other fields thatwant to learn and implement quickly some advanced statisticaltechniques.
Journal of Statistical Software, July 2004, Vol. 11
Iam pleased to see the publication of a comprehensive book related tocomputational statistics and MATLAB. this book is ambitious and wellwritten. As a long-time user of MATLAB, I find this book useful as areference, and thus recommend it highly to statisticians who useMATLAB. The book also would be very useful to engineers and scientistswho are well trained in statistics.

Product Description
As with the bestsellingfirst edition, this text covers some of the most commonly usedcontemporary techniques in computational statistics. With a strong, practical focus on implementing the methods, the authors includealgorithmic descriptions of the procedures as well as examples thatillustrate the use of the algorithms in data analysis. They offer allMATLAB®code, example files, and data sets available for download online.Updated for MATLAB R2007a and the Statistics Toolbox, Version 6.0, thisedition incorporates many additional computational statistics topics, including multivariate distributions, classifiers, clustering, parametric models, and smoothers.
