When selecting an analog to digital converter
(ADC), you must examine several specifications.
One spec to examine is effective number of bits
(ENOB). ENOB takes many ADC errors (such as
integral nonlinearity, differential nonlinearity, and
total harmonic distortion) and conveniently reports
them as one specification, providing an overall
picture of an ADC’s performance.
