I summarized some notes in PowerPoint, concerning the use of SpiceExplorer to analyze the SNR/SNDR of Nyquist ADC.
A behavioral 8-bit Nyquist ADC was used to examine the effect of various parameters / settings in FFT/DFT analysis tools of SpiceExplorer.
Three netlist files are attached in the PowerPoint file.
They are: - The original netlist from Jacob Baker.
- The moderated netlist able to pass WinSpice checks.
- The migrated netlist able to run with HSPICE simulator.
I then used the migrated netlist to check how FFT/DFT analysis tool should be used in SpiceExplorer.
All the settings were recorded, so that readers can follow and understand.
I personally think this document serves as a valid tutorial to understand SpiceExplorer FFT/DFT analysis tool.
I intended to port the transient analysis result to MATLAB and wanted to check if MATLAB would result in the same result.
After the exploration of the FFT/DFT analysis tool of SpiceExplorer, my perosnal conclusion is MATLAB double-check does not seem necessary. |
