Cracked EDA - Be careful !!!

Hi.

I just have been warned that Cadence software (even if cracked) is collecting information (username, hostname and IP/MAC address) every time you check-out a license and sends this info to Cadence corporate servers.
So if you ever have worked with Cadence EDA while your computer is connected to the internet Cadence Corp. has all the info.

Has anyone else heard about this? My source is very reliable.
Are there ways to block it (except not connecting to the internet ever) ?

yup, Synopsys does the same thing
Don't try the block port number, that doesn't work cause flex is using a floating port!
Also, the latest version is using delayed report submission
report will be sent once a connection is raised

run in virtual machine, and block the connection of VM.

个人使用的话，没问题吧

Currently it looks like VM is the best solution.
Do you know where Cadence/Synopsys store this information? Maybe it can be erased once in a while.
