Software Quality Engineer

Qualifications
Must Have
· BS Degree, Computer Science or EE
· Minimum 5 years experience in software quality assurance
· Knowledge of quality as it relates software development
Nice to have
· Knowledge of WinCE is desired. Other: graphic, GPS, Multimedia
· Knowledge of Source Save and CVS desirable (or equivalent software)
· Good English skills
Job Tasks
· Work with the Software Engineering Group and PM to:
o create and maintain software coding standard practices
o Implement and monitor software development standard practices
o Check coding style by audits and review
o Generate Software performance metrics and improvement opportunities
· Owner of the following Quality Management System Processes:
- Software Release Process and records retention
- Software Configuration Management and Version Control
- IP Protection Processes
· Liaison between Software group (WinCE, Graphics, MM) and GPS group to develop common practices and procedures for all locations
· Perform system audits of software group procedures, coding practices, version control, and testing
· Provide management with proper process metrics, improvement, and corrective action ideas
· Responsible for the software supplier program and performance
- Supplier qualification
- Supplier code review
- Copyright, Licensing, and IP protection issues
- Supplier Corrective action / improvement
· Participates in Internal Auditing of other aspects of the QMS
· Should have the ability to perform training on related subjects
· Ability to travel occasionally
