Position: HWBaseband Engineer-Shenzhen

               

Purpose:

Weare looking for people with a good grounding in mobile systems architecture ora closely related area as well as a willingness to gain knowledge in what makesa successful chipset/platform for the smartphones and tablet segments.

Applicantsshould expect to become responsible for the high-level hardware system designmeeting product requirements.

Keyresponsibilities/duties:

Youwill work in a team with highly skilled engineers that together carry out theentire ** Reference Design platform.

Thejob ensures, through a combination of technical expertise, system studies,market understanding and modeling, that  ** Reference Design maintains a costeffective, power optimized, easy-designed, commercial product portfolio.

Thejob involves analysis and break down of product requirements, developingarchitecture specifications, partitioning into modules, definition of interfaces(software-hardware interface), as well as hardware system investigations.

Thejob as the HW technical lead works in close collaboration with marketing,program manager, development&test team, sourcing team as well as chipsetdesign teams to develop/design HW solution, define the key components,customize module/component, optimize BOM, validate/qualify thecircuits/components.

Thejob also includes close interaction with customers and customer engineering forcustomer programs design-in, introducing customers needs and the gap analysisbetween Qualcomm solution and competitors.

Requirements

Key skills& knowledge:

1.
A broadgeneral technical knowledge within areas relevant to mobile communicationplatforms, with a special focus on hardware baseband perspective such as powermanagement and distribution, power consumption optimization, high-speed design,EMI/EMC/ESD, audio, etc. Knowledge of PI simulation will be a plus.

2.
Experienceand understanding of embedded systems with respect to SoC implementation and/orapplication/driver SW development

3.
Familiarto high-level mobile system design including product requirement management,system architecture design, system cost analysis and optimization, systemperformance simulation and evaluation, system validation, standard compliance,etc.

4.
Familiarto the mobile industry and ecosystem such as the operators, ODM/OEM/IDH,platform/chipset vendors, certification bodies, supply chain, wirelesscommunication standard groups, etc.

5.
Qualitydocumentation & status reporting

6.
Theability to manage workload to deliver results on time

Languageskills:

GoodEnglish communication skills (written and verbal)

Relevantexperience:

Minimal2~5 yrs experience on mobile terminal/device IC/Architecture/HW/SW design with massproduction experience

Qualifications:

Bachelorabove in Electronics Engineering or related major, Master above preferred
