Title: Lead system technical manager

External Job Title:  Technical Manager

This is an individual contribution position with nosubordinates

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Technical leader responsible for platform development, andsystem design and validation of AMD APU/CPU products in our Shanghai R&DCenter (SRDC). Systems are integrated combinations of computer hardwarecomponents (APU/CPUs, graphics, memory, IO adapters, peripherals, and BMCs) andsoftware components (firmware, drivers, OS, virtualization, and systemmanagement). This individual will interface with Marketing, SOC, IP, Softwareand PEO to define our platforms for new silicon and provide technical directionto the engineers to develop the motherboard, bring up the platform and silicon,debug issues, and complete system validation.

Candidate Requirements:

The candidate must have a BS or MSEE degree and a minimum of10 years of relevant working experience in new product development from adesign, platform and/or product engineering discipline. The candidate shouldhave experience both as a technical lead and/or a project manager. Thecandidate must also have a strong understanding of the general siliconengineering process (preferably CPU), from concept to tape-out to production.Furthermore the candidate should have experience with driving a multi-site andmulti-disciplined engineering program.

The candidate should be a proven leader, be able create andmaintain a working cross functional team and manage in a matrixed environment.A successful candidate must have exceptional verbal, as well as written,communication skills. Experience of Interaction with executives is desired.Additional requirements:

- Strong analytical skills

- Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, drawinsights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior managementas well as AMD customers

- Ability to network, build relationships, and driveeffective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within theorganization

- Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiplework streams to tight deadlines

Responsibilities and Deliverables

- Definition, design,  and delivery of validation,reference platforms and HST/SLT platforms

- Emulation

- System simulation, pin-outs, and MB design guidance

-Package design

- Thermal solution and testing

- Architecture of Silicon and System validation

- Validation test plans and execution of test plans

- Validation and debug tools requirements and development oftools (PSO also develops tools)

- Electrical analysis and characterization

- System and Si debug
