DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
A horizontal leadership role responsible for driving the discipline of silicon evaluation to meets our bounding box for power, performance, operating range, feature set and cost in time. This individual will work with the right people across discipline (PM, Design PDE, Performance, Manufacturing, Technology etc) to integrate “Silicon Evaluation” results and activities. He/She is also accountable to the VPs of engineering to ensure the program is on a successful path to a volume ramp
Candidate Requirements:
The candidate must have a BS or MSEE degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in silicon design or evaluation of multiple products. The candidate must also have a strong understanding of the general silicon engineering process (preferably CPU), from concept to tape-out to production. Furthermore the candidate should have experience with driving a multi-site and multi-disciplined engineering program.
The candidate should be a proven leader, be able create and maintain a working cross functional team and manage in a matrixed environment. A successful candidate must have exceptional verbal, as well as written, communication skills. Experience of Interaction with executives is desired. Additional requirements:
-Ability to synthesize lots of information, boil it down, set direction and manage up
-Ability to lead through influence and set direction across functions without the need for reporting structure
-Ability to grasp detail across functions utilizing cross functional experts.
-Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
Responsibilities and Deliverables
-Coordinates tactical day-to-day adjustments to plans and provides direction as a whole, while allowing a great deal of asynchronous execution across the technical disciplines during evaluation.
-Drives “silicon evaluation” planning and preparation prior to silicon including CTA activities to ensure that all the right detailed plans are in place for receipt of initial parts.
-Drives “silicon evaluation” sessions as dictated by a certain phase or circumstance, such as: tape-out reviews, deep dive sessions on a particular topic, cross functional debug meetings, HW Sync Meetings, Silicon Eval Meetings, etc.
-Complete solid Pre-silicon test and execution planning
-Execute efficient Post-silicon testing with clear and timely communication of results
-Efficiently drive the required bug discovery, issue debug and define all bug fixes in time for the final production GDS
-Serves as escalation point (as needed) for additional/unplanned technical resource requirements. |
