QuickTransit allows software that has been compiled for one processor/operating
system to be run on another processor/operating system without any source
code or binary changes. To do this, QuickTransit provides a hardware virtualization
technology that consists of four key components. First, an integration ǒFUSEō
allows QuickTransit to be easily integrated into the target system. Second,
a dynamic binary translator tackles the challenge of moving from one instruction
set architecture to another. Third, an operating system mapper translates
operating system calls from the source system to the target system in situations
where the source and target operating systems are different. Finally, a
graphics subsystem mapper translates graphics system calls from the source
to the target system in situations where the source and target graphics systems
are different.

个人感觉不是很现实，这样的系统感觉还是学术了一些， java 虚拟机也实现了类似的功能，如果所有的程序都用java编写的话。
“摆脱”硬件对软件的依赖这个“base”本身就有问题～
