We need storage firmware engineers for Shanghai.

Firmware Engineers

Responsibilities for this position include development of source code targeting the embedded environment associated with Solid State Drives. The team members will be deployed to work throughout the design from the host interface, the code FTL layer and the backend flash interfacing. Experience in SATA, AHCI and NVMe for the host interfaces is highly desirable and ONFI and Toggle for the Flash interfaces. Experience with FTL designs, storage virtualization and similar technology is desirable. Additionally, you will verify firmware design using a variety of test methods on prototype and production hardware. Using analysis equipment or software, you will demonstrate the effective analysis of functional or performance issues with the firmware and hardware in test environments or target host systems.  

Qualifications

Successful candidates for this position will have:

•  




Two or more years of relevant industry experience in embedded firmware development.

•  




Hands-on experience in firmware development and verification, system failure analysis, and problem solving.

•  




Experience with C/C++ for embedded firmware architectures.

•  




Experience programming in a multi threaded RTOS environment (custom, thread-x, Vx Works, etc.)

•  




Python scripting (or equivalent) experience a plus.

•  




Proficiency in using ARM/Tensillica development tools and IDE such as Eclipse a plus.

•  




Experience working with electrical engineers to create device-specific test.

•  




Proficiency in debugging in an embedded firmware application environment.

•  




The ability to analyze complex firmware and hardware issues.

•  




A high level of skill in problem recreation and trapping.

•  




A working knowledge of digital hardware design is optional, but highly desired.

•  




Knowledge of mass storage systems, Flash memory, or Solid State Drives desired.

•  




Knowledge of test automation, testing methodologies, and test tools.

•  




The ability to work well on a team based in different worldwide locations.

•  




The ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environment.
