Abstract
The purpose of this thesis work is to build analog circuitry for an Analog to Digital converter. This circuit was integrated on silicon and tested to measure the achieved results. The Thesis work began with literature studies that are presented in this report. The results from the literature studies concluded that there were some problematic areas that needed further analysis. This analysis was done in the areas of semiconductors and amplifier theory. With this analysis as a backbone, a circuit was drawn as a Schematic. This Schematic was simulated in different conditions in order to understand how durable the circuit was for manufacturing. Layout was made, that is design of mask layers for the semiconductor manufacturing process, and the results were sent for manufacturing in Austria. The manufactured circuits were measured and compared to the specification and the simulated results. The outcome of the manufacturing was surprisingly successful. Life could actually be concluded from the circuit, and some simple measurements could be performed to validate the outcome of the manufacturing to the simulated results. The Thesis work was conducted in the St. Jude Medical AB facilities in Stockholm, Sweden. |
