SPW comes with the richest set of
models, all included in the standard
product package and provided in source code.
-Signal processing base library:
CoWare provides more
than 1000 proven models of DSP functions
for DSP modeling. For example: filters (FIR,
IIR, Butterworth, Bessel, Elliptical etc.) basic
math (add, mult, sub, abs, sin, cos), probes
(signal storage, statistics, power, histogram)
memories (delay, bulk delay, tapped delay
line, circular buffer) and multirate processing
(upsample, downsample, interpolate, decimate,
merge, split).
-Communications library:
The SPW Communications Library
is a prebuilt collection of commonly used
communications functions, including basic
capabilities like modulators, demodulators,
adaptive equalizers, error correction, filtering
and channel models. Also included in this
library are RF and Smart Antenna models.
The RF library includes parameterizable
building blocks, such as amplifiers, mixers
and oscillators with phase noise, which can
be used in a cascaded stage analysis of the
RF design. The Smart Antenna Library assists
in the development of MIMO (Multiple Input
Multiple Output) systems and the design of
transmit or receive diversity antenna systems.
End-to-end models and blocks for designing
new Smart Antenna systems are also provided.
-Wideband CDMA (3GPP) library,
HSDPA library: 3GPP
standard compliant, includes models
and complete end-to-end system
setups according to the standard
specifications
Channel/environment modeling functions
and performance measurements including
bit error rate (BER), packet error rate (PER)
and throughput are provided. The testbench
models can be used for algorithmic exploration
of an end-to-end WCDMA system
and/or for hardware and RF verification. Each
modeled system is configurable, enabling
users to make rapid modifications to support
modeling their particular WCDMA system
design decisions.
-TD-SCDMA library: complements the
Wideband CDMA library by adding
support of the Low Chip Rate (LCR)
Time Division Duplex (TDD) of the
3GPP standard
-GSM/GPRS/EDGE library:standard
compliant models
-WiMAX library: 802.16 compliant,
includes models and complete end-toend
system simulation setups.
-CDMA2000 (3GPP2) library
-WLAN/WPAN library
The WLAN/WPAN Library is an environment
for the development of products based on
IEEE802.11, IEEE802.11a, IEEE802.11b,
IEEE802.11g, IEEE820.11n , Hiperlan/2,
Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless
standards and technologies. For UWB,
both emerging solutions from the Multiband
OFBM Alliance (MBOA) and the Direct-
Sequence CDMA (UWB Forum) are supported,
giving users an unmatched opportunity from
which to select from and compare. This
library helps design, implementation and
verification of the physical layer baseband of
WLAN and WPAN systems.

MATLAB Integration
Before SPW users start to put together
a complex system, many prefer to explore
individual components with MATLAB. Also,
users of MATLAB who are not related to
system implementation will just handover
TI DSP Code Composer Studio ISS Integration
The link of SPW to TI DSP Instruction
Set Simulator (ISS) allows design teams to
develop DSP applications and reuse their
SPW reference models for verification
of embedded software for TI TMS320C6000
and C5000 DSP platforms using TI’s Code
Composer Studio (CCS) integrated development
environment (IDE). This link ties the
detailed reference design of the communications
designer with the optimized software
implementation of the embedded software
engineer, helping achieve the requisite communications
system performance and realtime
and power consumption specifications. |
