Ngspice download

Ngspice is member of the gEDA Project, but it is distributed separately from mainstream gEDA applications.

Recent ngspice releases (starting from rework-10) can be downloaded from Sourceforge.net File Release System. Ngspice is released as a gzipped tar archive containing simulator's sources. They compile under various operating systems, e.g. LINUX, MS Windows, MAC, BSD, and maybe others. A binary package is distributed for MS Windows.

There are different releases available:

ng-spice-rework: this is the stable release. It does not contain last minute code and experimental features. This is the release intended for end-users.
ngspice CVS code: This is the code actually under development. It contains the most recent features and sometimes needs some testing
ng-spice-rework-devel: This is some code which has been under development, it contains experimental code and is intended for people who would like to experiment new features. This code is mostly obsolete today.
code contrib: this release contains additional code not yet released with ngspice, it generally contains partner applications under development. This code is mostly obsolete today.
Once downloaded, you have to extract the source and compile them.

Old releases (before rework-10), are available through this web site only (see the menu on the left), they are archived for historical purposes and are no longer maintained
