You can enlarge the length or reduce the width of the input pair in order the keep gm unchanged.
for gm=sqart(k*Id*w/l),
so you double the Id=2 'id and make w/l=1/2 'w/l

Ideal is to maintain the gain of the opamp through the input pairs while increase the tail current. Mostly like used for the 2 stages opamp with miller compensation. I agreed on this approach.
