A single-ended SiGe cascode LNA with low
gain mode is designed for WCDMA application
operating from 2.11GHz to 2.17GHz. A design
procedure is proved to be effective to maneuver the
trade-offs between noise match, high gain mode
and low gain mode input power match. The
proposed low gain mode circuit has a low S12 and
thus can avoid LO leakage backward to antenna or
duplexer under low gain operation. The total
current consumption is 4mA under 2.7V power
supply. The power gain is 18dB at high gain mode
with 1.9dB NF, -11dBm IIP3 and -19dBm input
1dB compression point. The power gain is -7dB at
low gain mode with 3dBm IIP3 and -5dBm input
compression point.
