New oscilloscope was digital. It had limited sampling rate and sampling memory. For example, 1M memory with 1uS sampling rate, you can get 1S waveform. But actually, we need observe high speed waveform, like 100MHz (10ns). As the previous description, you can only get 10mS waveform, that is mean you cannot get what you want. If you hope get the correct waveform, you'd better tell when you want to start ( a Trigger).
Of course, you get give a continous sine wave to oscilloscope, you get just push auto bottom. |
