Cadence 2013 patch很像已經不能用在 Cadence 2014版本的EDA tools

   The 2013 patch works fine on every piece of 2014 Cadence! and my almost all Cadence tools run in Virtuoso environment are now version 141 except a few - all patched by the 2013 patch.

Just wonder why you ever need to start up license server?  Once you having applied the 2013 patch to every Cadence software, you never ever need to start up Cadence license server, at least that's the way I run all Cadence software in Virtuoso environment on Kubuntu/Ubuntu 14.04.

Does it mean there is not need CDS_LIC_FILE variable to be set at all, and there is not need any license file to be used?

I am interested particularly in PVS/PVE tool. The license file for IC610 is not compatible with PVS versions higher than v10 so I was wondering if this 2013 patch will modify PVS13 in that way that it will work without necessity of a license file.
