I downloaded the SynopsysMonoSlayer v24.09 file from the following link:
🔗 https://bbs.eetop.cn/thread-978013-1-1.html
The previous version I had, SynopsysMonoSlayer_v1.1.0, was 720,360 bytes,
but the new SynopsysMonoSlayer_v24.09 is 3,764,544 bytes — much larger.
I’d like to know what functional differences exist between these two versions.
When I executed the following command:
SynopsysMonoSlayer_v24.09 -d X-2025.06 -f
the output included lines such as:
FN: X-2025.06/vc_static/X-2025.06/IMPL_COMPAT/RTLA/linux64/nwtn/shlib_python/python/site-packages/insight_api/cdpl/libcdpl1.so
FN: X-2025.06/vc_static/X-2025.06/IMPL_COMPAT/RTLA/linux64/nwtn/shlib_python/python/site-packages/insight_api/model_mgr/cmlp_modelmgr.so
...
FN: X-2025.06/vc_static/X-2025.06/IMPL_COMPAT/RTLA/linux64/syn/bin/tmax64
.....
and finally printed the following ASCII banner:
/$$$$$$$ /$$ /$$ /$$$$$$$

The command was executed using a regular user account, but the X-2025.06 directory is owned by root.
Despite this, the tool displayed a “patch done” message.
This raises suspicion — how could it patch files owned by root when executed by a normal user?
Therefore, I doubt the trustworthiness of SynopsysMonoSlayer_v24.09.
According to its help output:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Synopsys MonoSlayer
[Usage]
-h Display this screen.
-a Auto check your files, Patch FlexNet license and Synopsys checksum verify.
-c Search and patch Synopsys checksum verify files.
-d Set need search and patch directory, default use current path.
-f Search and patch FlexNet license files.
So, using the options -d X-2025.06 -f means it’s supposed to search for and patch FlexNet license files in that directory —
but more precisely, it should say “FlexNet license check binary files” to make sense.
Because the output shows “patch done” even for files the user cannot write to,
I suspect the message is misleading or fake, suggesting that the program may not be functioning normally.
Many others have claimed that with this tool, Synopsys applications can run without a license daemon or license file,
but I’d like to confirm whether that is really true.
Since the program reports successful patching of files that a user cannot modify,
I’m seeking feedback or experience from others who have actually used SynopsysMonoSlayer_v24.09.
