CentOS 7.9 is no longer useful because its kernel version is too old to run the latest EDA tools from 2024.
During OS installation, all libraries except for those supporting specialized hardware are installed, and you can include all the RPM files from the OS installation image in the user account, so you can install additional packages via yum as needed.

What exactly is optimized when referring to an "EDA-optimized image"? If something was specially optimized, an explanation seems necessary.

In any case, CentOS 7.9 is no longer worth installing.
