Job  Description  

You will work with a global team and develop Android Middleware/HAL/App software for enabling audio & voice features integrated into Android based devices (Mobile phones, IoT devices etc)

Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement Android Middleware/HAL/App software for audio & voice features
• Work with customers on integration our software into customer Android based devices
•  Occasionally travel to customer locations to aid with integration of Knowles software

Required Skill Set and Experience
• BE in Computer Science, Electronics or related streams
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills
• Experience with at least one of the audio middleware frameworks (Android Audio Flinger, Gstreamer, Pulse Audio, …)
• Experience working with Android development environment and tools
• Audio domain knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter and good team player
• Experience working with configuration management tools
• Fluent in speaking and writing English language

Preferred skill set and experience
• JAVA programming skills
•  Experience with Android Audio Flinger framework
•  Android app development skills
•  Ability to work with Git and Gerrit
•  Ability to rebuild the entire Android system including the kernel, middleware (AOSP) and applications
•  Experience writing device drivers for audio devices (Codecs, DSPs etc)
•  Knowledge of Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA)
•  Familiarity with standard digital audio interfaces : I2S, Slimbus, Soundwire, PDM
•  Familiarity with control interfaces: SPI, UART, I2C
•  Ability to use lab equipment for test and debug of audio systems
