SPEF supports the distributed net model, the reduced net model and the lumped capacitance model. In the distributed net model (D_NET), each segment of a net route has its own R and C. In a reduced net model (R_NET), only a single reduced R and C is considered on the load pins of the net and a pie model (C-R-C) is considered on the driver pin of the net. In a lumped capacitance model, only a single capacitance is specified for the entire net.
