Sr PM Analyst DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Responsible for the completion of medium size cross-functional and cross-regional Platform Engineering projects which impact one or more AMD Graphics product launches. Accomplishes project goals in the context of a matrix organization with people assigned from cross-functional organizations (e.g. silicon bring-up, silicon validation, electrical analysis, platform board design, debug, tools engineering, customer support, etc.) in a global engineering environment
Responsibilities:
1. Drive a cross function matrix team to develop projects to improve with new feature or resolve a problem in sustain projects.
2. Responsible for definition and delivery of project objectives, scope, cost and schedule.
3. Obtain executive approval for the implementation of the project plan.
4. Optimize program results by coordinating proper trade-offs between functional groups.
5. Keep team focused on project objectives, track and report status
6. Manage change to overcome obstacles and maintain project commitments.
7. Remove team obstacles, manage conflicts and promote good team morale to achieve productivity and effectiveness.
Requirements:
1. A technology related Bachelor's degree above plus 5 years of high tech related experience including management of similar IT new projects and direct engineering experience.
2. Requires demonstrated skill in leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, influencing, and effective communication.
3. Requires previous experience of managing a mid-size IT NPI project from Concept to product launch.
4. PMP certified is plus.
5. Leadership
- Ensures optimal use of assigned resources.
- Effectively influences laterally/up/down to achieve goal.
6. Communications
- Previous experience to make presentations and proposals including the ability to summarize complex situations and recommendations succinctly.
7. Problem Solving and decision making
- Able to navigate ambiguous data and opinions to achieve consensus quickly through use of well-developed facilitation skills.
8. Drive for results
- Track record of delivery to program commitments for scope, budget and schedule while managing change.
