Software QA Engineer

Job Location:  Shanghai

Department:  Semi-Custom SW Engineering

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure system software (BIOS, Driver & Firmware, etc.) to be tested properly and delivered to customer and internal engineering teams on time.

· Develop manual and automated test suites to ensure compliance to product specification and adequate test coverage.

· Execute test plans, analyze test results and drive issues to closure.

· Work closely with product development teams to understand product requirements and provide feedback on the architecture and designs.

· Identify and Investigate defects, provide diagnostic support to customers and internal engineering teams.

REQUIREMENTS

· B.Sc. or M.Sc. In EE or CS or equivalent is required

· Good written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin and English

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

· A minimum of 3 years’ experience on software QA or Validation.

· Solid understanding of software quality assurance and testing methodologies and be able to think independently and solve complex problems.

· Excellent debugging, problem solving, pattern recognition mentality and analytical skills.

· Knowledge of PC products (CPU/GPU/APU, motherboard…) and peripherals (DIMM, Hard Disk, Monitor, SD, SATA, USB….).

· Hands-on experience with x86 silicon, platform or software validation is preferred.

· Proficient in scripting languages (Perl, Python, etc.) for test automation development is a big plus.

· Systems administration experience in Linux and Windows environment is a plus.

· Quick learning and self-motivated.

· Good team player and willing to work overtime and under pressure.
