Description:

•   Join Software Developmentteam as a WiFiSoftware Managerspecializing in 802.11, Radio MAC, RadIOTechnologies, the delivery of platforms, and software releases.

•   Take on a role that focuseson Leader but could include Implementation.

•   Work with cross-functionalteams on software and chip architectures for next
generation 802.11ac MIMO chipsets.

•   Work with Product Marketingto create product road maps, nail down customer requirements, and plan softwareprograms to deliver the results.

•   Design high performance,scalable, and modular subsystems for 802.11ac standards based chipsets. Abilityto work with the asic team to define new devices.  Ability to make existing architectures takeon new applications.

•   Lease development ofadvanced rate adaptation, power savings, dynamic frequency selection, radiomanagement, and interference avoidance algorithms.

•   Managedevelopment offirmware, device driver and applications.

•   Manage softwarereleases.  Ability to create a softwarebranch plan, and execute it.  Knowledgeof Source Control Management systems like Perforce.  

•   Knowledge of softwarelicensing concepts, including Open Source licenses. Proven ability to leverageWiFi open source software like OpenWPA, HostAPD, and OpenWRT to deliver productquality software.

•   Must have knowledge ofAgile and Waterfall engineering processes.

•   Proven skills in recruitingembedded software engineers.  

Requirements:

•   MS in EE, CE, CS orequivalent.

•   10+ years relevant firmwareor embedded software development and debugging experience.

•   5+ Experience in a SWmanagement role..

•   Expertise in definingsoftware branching strategies to allow teams to do concurrent development.

•   Hands-on experience with802.11 a/b/g/n/ac SoC or product development.

•   In depth knowledge of802.11 and WiFi Alliance specifications, like 802.11ac and Hotspot 2.0

•   Experience with Linuxkernel and network device driver development.

•   Knowledge of Linux EmbeddedDevelopment and development of “bare metal” embedded software.  Knowledge of both Linux technology andlicensing required.  Knowledge of WiFiOpen Source projects like hostapd and open supplicants. Experience moving highdata rates with a variety of hardware interfaces including PCIe.

•   Knowledge of TCP/IP andNetworking. Knowledge of Switching and interconnect architectures a plus.

•   Understanding of how tolead the creation of common SDKs to meet the requirements of systems customersin different market segments.

•   Knowledge of Linux EmbeddedDevelopment and development of “bare metal” embedded software.  Knowledge of both Linux technology andlicensing required.  Knowledge of WiFiOpen Source projects like hostapd and open supplicants.
