Job Title | HW Signal integrity Engineer-SH | Post Date | 02/10/2015 | Division | QCT | Job Area | Engineering - Hardware | Location | China - Shanghai | Job Function | The candidate will work in a team oriented environment to provide electrical design expertise in the areas of signal integrity and power distribution for the design of wireless products and development systems. This engineer must interface with digital board designers, packaging engineers, applications engineers, test engineers, also to guide EDA engineers on routing to solve signal integrity issues. Working effectively across organizational boundaries is essential as is the effective presentation and documentation of results. The candidate is expected to proactively seek ways to optimize designs, streamline and validate signal and power integrity modeling and simulation methodologies, and develop an expert level of knowledge of relevant EDA software tools. The position offers the opportunity to design test boards and use high frequency measurement equipment to validate selected models and simulations.
What need to do on this job:
Perform various IO analyses, potentially from model extraction through simulation and reporting of conclusions. IO types include DDR memory interfaces and variety of serial interfaces.
Analyze and provide design guidance on power distribution networks for mobile product development and reference systems.
Perform high frequency measurements for purposes of analysis and validation of simulations.
Create and deliver short, focused presentations for technical training.
Propose and define requirements for design and analysis methodologies. | Skills/Experience | | Responsibilities | 5 to 10 years experience in the following areas:
Electromagnetic theory and transmission lines
Basic signal and power integrity concepts
Commercial 3D electromagnetic field solver
Commercial SI or RF analysis tools
SPICE transient simulation including use of IBIS models
The following experience is a plus:
DDR and LPDDR design and analysis
High speed serial IO design and analysis
Hspice, Ansys, Sigrity, Agilent, and MATLAB tools desirable.
Spreadsheets and similar productivity tools, including scripting
VNA or TDR based high frequency measurements
Mentor or Cadence board design tools | Education Requirements | Minimum bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, bachelor degree with at least 7 years of experience, master degree at least 5 years of experience, PHD are preferred
