Responsibilities

Summary :

l
 Provide expert level Customerapplication support for Atmel’s

capacitiveTouch products.

l
 Lead the development and characterisingof the next generation of

capacitivetouch screen products.

l
 To create and maintain softwareand hardware solutions in support of

assignedcustomer projects

l
 Develop custom Embedded C code asrequired in support of

Customersprojects.

l
 To work closely with other TeamLeaders and other Application team

memberslocally and worldwide to ensure the timely and successful

deliveryof projects

l
 Participate in cross-functionalteams in the development of new

Products

l
 Keep updated with the latestdevelopments in technology

Duties:

l
 Provide a Technical interface tocustomers remotely and at their sites

asrequired. Which will require European and international travel

l
 Participate in team designreviews as appropriate

l
 Facilitate schematic & BOMcreation

l
 Provide the basis & somecontent for product documentation

l
 Undertake open-ended designprojects based on customer input

l
 Ensure coherent &professional communications with customer peer

groups

l
 Disseminate technical information& inputs from customers as

appropriate

l
 Project task coordination andplanning

l
 Provide timely status reports onprojects to Team Leader

l
 Support existing products

l
 Support colleagues in otherworldwide Application teams as required

l
 Assisting with manufacturabilityand usage issues

l
 Facilitate the sourcing ofcomponents

l
 Adhere to all prevalent companydesign rules (h/w & s/w) and QA

guidelines

l
 Propose options for new productdevelopment resulting from

customerfeedback and requests

l
 To acquire in-depth knowledge ofrelevant Atmel products and their

relativeapplications

l
 Assist Field ApplicationsEngineers (FAE’s) with customer enquiries

MandatorySkills

Experienceof firmware development in embedded C; Hardware design

using 8bit and/or 32 bit microcontrollers software development; electronic

circuitdesign, Facilitate PCB layout, modification and prototype construction,

Customerfacing experience

PreferredSkills

Hardwareexperience useful

Familiaritywith power supply design

TeamLeadship experience

CADfamiliarity (Altium, DXF, SVG)

Displayindustry experience (LCD/OLED)

EMC RFIexperience useful

Education

BSc orBEng Hons Electronics (perhaps with Computer science)

Experience

Preferred– eight years post grad experience for a more senior position
